CHANGING LIGHT IN INTERIORS

In this exercise the class will work on the following:

The appearance of an interior scene changes through the day.


Let's imagine ourselves in a room with a window facing south; the light source in the room comes from this window.


Imagine as well, that there is Light in the street that will illuminate the room during the evening.


Now let's illuminate the room at different times of the day.


For this exercise you will use decorative shadows, cookies, and gels.


You will need to define your Lighting Styles and Tones.


Discuss how you will use the overall Tonal Distribution and evaluate the landscape of the aesthetics of the picture you want to achieve (Pictorial Quality)


Draw a Lighting diagram


Tell us about of the genre of the picture and what is the mood and feeling you want to achieve


   1. Morning

   2. Mid day

   3. Afternoon (4 PM): decorative shadows and gels

   4. Sun: decorative shadows and gels

   5. Night: implied light, decorative shadows and gels
